This event is a semi-formal dinner to acknowledge the hard work of all students and recognize the graduating class of 2010. Seniors give speeches and the rest of the student body receives acknowledgments and honors. The dinner and ceremonies will take place at Laurel Oak Country Club and will start promptly at 6:30 pm. Doors and a cash bar open at 6 pm. We encourage all students and immediate family to attend! This is a wonderful celebration of our students.

Friday, June 4th Graduation/Moving Up

Our Annual Moving Up and Graduation Ceremony is the highlight of our year. While some move through the gate into their next school year, others will cross through their last gate and graduate. The event will take place at Sarasota Christian Church and will start promptly at 7:00pm. All students are expected to attend the ceremony.

Graphic Novel Pages

Your 1st assignment to illustrate 2 pages from a passage you liked from any of the novels you read last semester in English Lit. class. Questions to ask yourself; what is the most important statement from the passage you selected and what is the most dramatic way to get that message across in just 2 pages?

Due Date: February 11

Medium: Open

Size: 9″x12″

Requirements: Research graphic novels form those I brought or on the internet. You must have basic layouts for you pages laid out in your sketch books if you wish to use color some rough layout ideas with color also.

2nd Assignment

Chinese Dragons

Chinese Character Dragon

Your 2nd assignment is to make a sculpture of a Chinese Dragon out of clay to be fired and glazed (optional).

Due Date: March 4

Medium: Clay (white or red) glaze optional

Size: No Bigger the 6″,  these are table top sculptures.

Requirements: Do research on Chinese Dragons, they are very different then the dragons represented in Medieval times. Rough sketch’s in sketch book from at least three angles (this is a sculpture “3d” height, width, depth) and with color if you are to glaze.
